Notes: The Continental entered its eight model year on the 1995 platform
with virtually no change, save for the Collector's Edition package added
midyear. Lincoln's big front-drive sedan was axed after
the '02 model year, as parent Ford sought to streamline lineups, and Lincoln
sought to switch entirely to rear-wheel drive platforms. Having no future
in such a scheme, the Continental nameplate was retired. Its next incarnation
was radically different, bearing no resemblance to the Taurus-derived
Cadillac Seville-fighter.
