Notes: In its second year of production, Lexus added a manual
transmission to the IS 300 sedan, and introduced a new model, the
SportCross. Targeted at European sport wagons, especially BMW's 3-Series,
the SportCross was a compact wagon which sacrifices some cargo volume for
the sake of a nearly fastback-styled trunk. Although Toyota never called
SportCross a wagon, it is the term most automotive journalists have applied.
Proving once again that the government always has its own opinion, the
EPA classed the SportCross as a compact hatchback sedan, and not as a
small wagon.
