2001 Lexus GS 300/430
Body style(s): 4-door sedan
Trim Levels: GS 300, GS 430
MSRP range: $38,555-$47,355
Notes: The "wicked" Lexus entered 2001 with a subtle restyle to the front end (as with most Toyota models, you would be hard-pressed to tell the difference until you got close) that affected the grille and headlight clusters; curtain airbags were added, as well. More exciting was the replacement of the 4.0L V8 with a new, torquier 4.3L model. As with most Lexus models, a large number of option packages were available, including a more powerful stereo system with 6-disc in-dash CD, and high-intensity discharge headlights. To maintain emissions standards, the manumatic feature on the GS 400 was dropped on the 430, and moved to the GS 300 instead.
