Notes: For those who felt the emptiness from the departure of the
XJ12, Jaguar offered the Vanden Plas Supercharged for 2000. The VP SC,
as one might call it, offered all of the luxury fittings that Jaguar
possessed, and coupled it with the supercharged V8 from the XJR (this
was the first Jaguar sedan priced above $80,000 in America). A
satellite navigation system, revised stereo, new traction-control
system, a rain-sensing windshield wiper (Jaguar XJs only have a single
blade), and new wheels for the XJR rounded out the changes for 2000.
Interestingly, this was also the year that Jaguar introduced a second
sedan line for the first time in recent history.
