Notes: With the second-generation LH platform a year old, Chrysler debuted two new sedans for 1999, the LHS and the 300M. Whilst the 300M provided a "European" sort of luxury-sport sedan experience, the LHS was the marque's flagship, a luxury sedan that took dead aim on Buicks and Lincolns. THe LHS was an American luxury sedan: big, plush, soft, and equipped with a smooth powertrain. It was longer than the 300M, and provided an excellent trunk, with 18.7 cubic feet on tap. Although the LHS was smaller than Lincoln's Town Car, its more powerful engine delivered better performance, with better economy, and it was still quite roomy inside, using Chrysler's cab-forward architecture that the company embraced in the Nineties. The LHS was engineered to be a softer-riding counterpart to the 300M, and a plusher, more powerful version of the Concorde. Unlike the 300M (the two were often considered together in car magazines), the LHS lacked folding rear seats: it had a center console passthrough only. The cockpit provided automatic climate control, 9-speaker stereo with CD, and heated power front seats; a moonroof was optional. Leather upholstery was standard.
