Notes:
Chrysler provided its flagship LHS sedan with a number of detail upgrades
for 2001. Side airbags became optional this year, although only for front-seat
riders. Optional walnut wood trim (authentic wood, actually) was available in
the Luxury Group option package, which also included mirrors that automatically
tilted downward when reversing. Steering wheel-mounted stereo controls debuted
in this, the LHS's final season. The fuel tank bumped up to 17.2 gallons.
An emergency trunk release was added, and the center rear passenger position
gained a shoulder belt. New alloy wheels helped to identify the '01 models.
After 2001, Chrysler discontinued the LHS sedan as it consolidated its lineup.
Essentially, the LHS was preserved as a trim level on the Chrysler Concorde:
it became the Limited model, and the whole Concorde lineup inherited the
LHS's appearance.
