Notes: In 2001, front side airbags finally available for the 300M/LHS twins. A new wheel design was used, and the sport package utilized the same 17" tires as the base 300M, except for a higher speed rating. Ever since the middle of the 1999 model year, no speed governor was fitted to the 300M. Also, the center rear seat gained a three-point belt. Both Consumer Reports and ConsumerGuide had good things to say about the 300M, but both warned of its less-than-ideal reliability record. In the car's first three seasons, there were six NHTSA safety recalls.
